Link Domino Park with the Northside waterfront using Kent Avenue. The important planning detail is that this is a sequence of parks connected by streets, not a continuous shoreline path through every property.

Route overview
Domino Park → Kent Avenue north → North 7th Street waterfront → Kent Avenue → Bushwick Inlet Park. Visit the public waterfront spaces, then return to Kent when the shoreline connection ends.
Start near Kent and South 5th and use the public park entrance. Walk the riverfront portion and look at the retained industrial structures. Keep to signed public paths; neighboring building grounds are not part of the route.
Return to Kent Avenue
Leave the park toward Kent and head north on the sidewalk. Cross side streets at designated crossings and check for cyclists before crossing bicycle lanes. Resist following a waterfront edge into a private or closed area.
Take the North 7th Street detour
At North 7th, turn toward the river for a short waterfront stop where public access is open. Return to Kent afterward; this detour does not mean there is a continuous northbound path along the river.
Finish at Bushwick Inlet Park
Continue north on Kent to the North 9th Street area and enter the open public park section. Finish with a view back along the waterfront. Use posted entrances and closures to determine how much of the park you can explore.
Getting there and terrain
Arrival and departure
Arrive near the south end of Domino Park and plan departure from the Northside. Use current MTA information for transit; this route includes street walking between access points.
Mostly sidewalks and park pavement with multiple crossings and bicycle traffic on Kent Avenue. Waterfront spaces can be exposed, and construction may change entrances.
These notes describe the suggested route, not an accessibility certification. Check official access information for the entrance and facilities you need.
Practical tips
Treat Kent Avenue as the reliable connecting spine between parks.
The North 7th waterfront detour is optional; return to Kent if the public entry is closed.
Do not assume a ferry landing provides service at your desired time. Check the operator if using it to leave.
A shorter option
Explore Domino Park alone for a compact outing with a single arrival and departure point.
Maps and source information
Use these official or local operator resources for maps, public-space information and changing notices. The sequence of stops and estimates above are Brooklyn Walks’ suggested itinerary.
A compact route through DUMBO’s street grid and riverfront spaces, with the Manhattan Bridge framing one view and the Brooklyn Bridge framing another. It stays north of the long pier walk in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
About 1 mile · 35–60 minutes Easy · uneven streets
Walk south through the park’s riverfront spine from Pier 1 to Pier 6. This route emphasizes the changing shoreline and pier landscapes; it does not include DUMBO’s street grid or a bridge crossing.
About 1.5 miles · 45–70 minutes Easy · mostly level paths
Use Red Hook’s street grid to reach Louis Valentino, Jr. Park and Pier, then return through nearby blocks. This small loop focuses on one public harbor viewpoint rather than promising a continuous walk through the working waterfront.
